Sneary started his career as a painter in 2011, painting primarily en plein air, after forty years as an architect, architectural illustrator and educator. He likes subjects that reflect mankind’s presence in our environment—buildings, bridges, industrial structures, fences, telephone poles—and the natural landscape. He has won numerous awards in Plein Air competitions and was the featured artist in Watercolor magazine’s June 2016 issue. Faculty member for the 2016 Plein Air Convention and Expo in Tucson, Arizona, participating artist in Paint Cuba! Publisher’s Invitational 2016, Sneary is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Missouri Watercolor Society, Outdoor Painters Society and President Emeritus of The American Society of Architectural Illustrators.
